Clinical audit is currently experiencing an unprecedented level of change in the UK. At the instruction of the Chief Medical Officer, new structures have been established to drive forward the reinvigoration of clinical audit at both a national and local level. The first Clinical Audit 2020 event proved a huge success and this conference will offer delegates new insights into what the future holds for clinical audit. An exceptional programme has been developed and will provide delegates with the opportunity to meet those that will lead the development of audit in the UK, including Professor Nick Black (Chair of the new National Clinical Audit Advisory Group).

Highlights of the conference will include:

  • Presentation and Q&A session with Professor Nick Black (NCAAG Chair)
  • More brilliance from the undoubted star of Clinical Audit 2020 - Andy Cope
  • Looking to the future – Martin Ferris (NAGG Chair)
  • Speakers confirmed from NICE, National Blood Service and DHSSPS (N.Ireland)
  • Poster competition – cash prizes of £200, £100 and £50 to be won!
  • Award winning venue, centrally located with free onsite car parking
  • All delegates receive presentations on a 512MB memory stick

Proposed improvements for Audit 2020: The Return

The first Clinical Audit 2020 event evaluated highly with over 90% of attendees rating the event as “very good or good” for “value for money” and “overall”. However as an audit organisation we are always looking to make changes and improve the work that we deliver. With this in mind, our September event will be held in the Shuttle Suite, which is an improvement on the Space Theatre. We are also inviting speakers from all sectors of the NHS to deliver presentations and the poster exhibition will provide more opportunities to view examples of audit projects in action. The exhibition will also be more audit-friendly, but the successful features of our first Clinical Audit 2020 event will be retained, i.e. excellent speakers, lots of interactivity and a wide range of resources on offer.

What delegates said about the first 2020 conference held in November 2007

“well organised and interesting conference”
“added touches were excellent – memory stick (wow!) and goody bag on leaving (thanks!)”
“very inspiring – good variety of speakers and Andy Cope was brilliant”
“good fun with lots of interactive ideas”
“great venue – free parking, access to the space centre exhibits and easy to access”
“national conference of this standard for under £200 is exceptional, please run it again”
