Train the Trainer in Clinical Audit
Overview
A report by the National Audit Office in 2007 recommended that more clinical audit training needs to be made available to healthcare professionals. Both the Department of Health and the National Audit and Governance Group have subsequently flagged up the need for more clinical audit training. This course will serve as a “train the trainers” resource, providing audit trainers with a validated national qualification that will also enable successful learners to deliver accredited audit training through the Clinical Audit Support Centre within their own organisation – although there will be an additional charge for this.

Course content
- How to deliver an introductory clinical audit training session
- Getting the right balance – mixing theory, practical advice and fun activities!
- How to structure and write a suitable lesson plan
- How to profile your learners and assess their needs
- Understanding how individuals learn – e.g. styles, environment, etc
- How to deal with difficult situations that you may encounter
- Presentation skills – delivering a presentation to your peer group
Forms of delivery
This course is held centrally in Leicester on a regular basis or alternately we can deliver in-house training within your organisation.
Numbers of delegates
This is an intensive course and numbers are limited to ten learners or less.
Length of course
The course lasts for a total time of 6 hours and takes place over one full-day.
Accreditation
Accreditation for this course has been applied for through the National Open College Network. All successful learners will receive the relevant accreditation.
KSF requirements
The course will relate directly to several KSF dimensions – C1, C2, C4, C5, C6, HWB3, G1, G2 and G5.
Costs
The course costs £250+VAT (£287.50) per delegate, with a 10% discount for group bookings. Costs for in-house delivery of this course are available on request.
